Here are some quick guidelines to keep in mind when naming your virtual tours. It is helpful if the names that you enter are what should appear on the final product.
- Always ask the POC what they would like their tours named.
- Make sure everything is spelled correctly, capitalized, and formatting is consistent.
- Single tour locations still need to have their tour named. Possibilities include “Main Entrance” or simply the name of the location.
- Use “Main Entrance” or “Entrance & Lobby” instead of anything containing “Grandview.” Grandview is an internal term only referring to a single image within the main tour.
- The word “Area” probably isn’t necessary. (Ex. “Bar” instead of “Bar Area”)
- For bathrooms that require a separate tour, use the name of the room followed by “Bathroom.” (Ex. “King Suite Bathroom,” or “Accessible King Walk-in Shower”)
- Always use “Accessible” instead of “Handicap.” This places the focus on accessibility and takes it off of disability.
- Title tours simply instead of describing their contents. (Ex. “Riverwalk” instead of “River to Path Through Woods to Field”)
