<aside> 🔋 Battery life: A blinking blue light will appear on the side of the Theta Z1 camera once it hits 30% battery life. The camera icon in the top right of the Threshold 360 Capture app will also turn red at this time. This means that you have approximately 1 hour of battery life left!

Battery temperature error: Camera battery is too hot and needs to cool down before resuming capture.

Camera unit temperature error: Camera is too hot and needs to cool down before resuming capture.

Electromagnetic compass error: Indicates the camera's internal gyroscope needs to be reset. Hold the camera in your hand in front of you and slowly move it in a figure 8 several times.

Memory capacity warning: Camera's memory is full and will need to be erased. First, ensure all your tours are published without errors in your Capture app. Turn your camera on and connect to its WiFi network, then open the Ricoh Theta app. Select Cam Images, then the Picture Frame icon in the top right corner. Select the ✓Checkmark at the bottom left of the screen to select all images, and then tap Delete.

Battery level warning: Camera needs to be charged. Plug into your external battery or a wall outlet.

Other errors: If you encounter this, try doing a hard reset on the camera by holding down the Power button and WiFi button simultaneously for 6+ seconds until the camera turns off and back on again. If this does not resolve the error, please report damaged equipment if it continues to prevent you from capturing.

Additional Troubleshooting

<aside> ⚙ Update your Camera's Firmware: Ensure your camera is operating on the latest Ricoh firmware. You will need to have downloaded Ricoh's Theta App. Turn your camera on and connect to its WiFi network, then open the Theta app. Select Settings in the bottom right corner and then Update firmware. Select Check the camera version and then Start Download if you need to update. The camera will download the firmware, turn off, and back on during this time and then will display the updated firmware version in app. More details can be found here.

<aside> ☀️ Extreme weather: Ricoh Theta Z1's ideal operating temperature is between 15 to 25°C / 59 to 77°F. ****If you're capturing in extreme temperatures (below 59F or above 77F), the camera may have limited WiFi range capabilities or may shut itself off to cool down. If the camera is too cold, it may not be able to transmit a WiFi signal very far and will force you to stand closer to the camera or switch to a Handheld mode if possible. If the camera overheats, it will shut itself off to cool down its internal temperature. If you're shooting in direct sun and it will not turn back on, move the camera to some shade or indoors to cool down before resuming your capture.

<aside> ⚡ Charging your Theta: Ensure you're using the USB-C cord that came with your Theta Z1 to charge it. Other USB cables may be compatible but they will cause your Theta to charge much slower than the original cable that came with your camera.
